If you are a successful business person, you are more than likely spending time with other successful business people. If you complain on a regular basis, you are probably surrounded by people who also complain a lot. This has beenmy general observation of my retail customers as well. There are distinct patterns to the groups that frequent my shop. It’s easy to identify the friendlies, the grumps, the comics, the shy, the geeks, etc. These observations ledme to asking, “Who am I spending time with, and who is influencing me?” By answering this question, I discovered opportunities to improve my business and developed the relationships that positively influencedmy bottom line. Let’s start with the question “who do I spendmy time with?” On a typical workday, I spend 60 percent of my time “Influence creates affluence. Affluence does not create influence. Affluence makes you more of who you already are.” – Richie Norton, Serial Entrepreneur
