merchandising basics Simply put, Merchandising is promoting the sale of goods by their presentation and placement. When done correctly, this helps strengthen your brand and is a powerful marketing tool for any retail business. When products are well organized, clean and labeled clearly, customers feel comfortable and are more willing to buy. Good Signage – It should be easy to find, easy to read and appear on every product possible throughout your entire store. When done well, this will increases sales significantly. Product Placement – Are your bestsellers located where customers don't have to search for them? Do you have a table or counter in or close to the humidor that neatly displays new releases or sale items? How often do you rotate products in your humidor? Where do you display your exclusives? Know Your Brands – It is important for you to understand, from each of your vendors, which brands might be protected from internet discounting, which brands might be brick-and-mortar exclusives, which brands oer the biggest margins and which brands are the quick sell throughs.
