80 PCA The Magazine | SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2019 PREMIUMCIGARS.ORG LA BARBA Ricochet Cru Mexi-Sol The Ricochet line is a series meant to go back to Tony Bellatto’s roots as a sommelier, with each of the blends taking a component of wine he has fallen in love with. This new Ricochet is blended to remind him of Left Bank Bordeaux wines. He describes it as very balanced and complex with a definitive spicy minerality, and a touch of soft sweetness. The name “Cru Mexi-Sol” comes from its Mexican Sungrown Wrapper. It also uses Indonesian binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania and the Dominican Republic. Vitolas: 4 1/4 x 44 6 1/4 x 52 5 1/2 x 54 6 x 60 LA FLOR DOMINICANA 25th Anniversary To celebrate their silver anniversary, La Flor Dominicana is releasing La Flor Dominicana 25th Anniversary. The cigar utilizes an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper while the binder and filler come from the companies La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic. Vitola: 7 x 52 N — P N E W P R O D U C T S LA PALINA Double Digit The La Palina Double Digit is a 6 x 60 gordo that uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a mixture of Dominican, Nicaraguan and undisclosed fillers and will be packaged in boxes of 50. LA SIRENA Aniversario Especial The blend consists of a 10-year-old Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper, with a Mexican San Andrés criollo 98 binder and a filler blend that includes tobaccos from Mexico, Brazil, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The La Sirena Aniversario Especial is being released in a single 5 3/4 x 54 robusto. LA SONRISA CIGARS Domador The Domador, pays tribute to one of the company’s co-founder’s cowboy heritage. It’s a 6 x 52 toro that use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Indonesian binder and fillers from the Jalapa and Estelí regions of Nicaragua. It was blended by Silvio David Martinez at the La Sonrisa Cigars S.A. factory in Granada, Nicaragua, with the cigars getting a year of rest in the company’s aging rooms before being released. Domador means tamer or breaker and is used in reference to cowboys and others who tame horses. Wally Stealey, the company’s other co-founder, grew up in Colorado learning how to tame horses on his family’s ranch, and the cigar’s band features a picture of an 18-year-old Stealey.
